Mowing Devil Productions - The Art of Richard Lemmert

My name is Richard Lemmert. I am a native of Seattle. From an early age I have been into creating, drawing, building and putting my ideas in motion using wood, metal and color on paper. My medium is ever changing from painting to sculpture. My most recent project, The Devil's Birdcages combines wood, hinges, and hardware cloth. I have also recently finished a series of paintings titled Birds, Scraps and Skulls: The Dead End Journals of Richard Lemmert, in which I use watercolor and ink. I like to travel for inspiration and my adventures have led me on the trail of Bosch, Gaudi and Goya. I am also a fan of the Watts Towers. Architecture plays a large part in everything I create. Outsider Art, religious iconography, found objects, deconstructivism and industrial art also have a presence in my works. I like to say that my art has no place in this universe but somehow stomps its foot and leaves an unforgettable impression.
